Living By Faith: Galatians 2:1-10

In the game of telephone, the message is rarely preserved from beginning to end. But when it comes to the gospel, God has worked through many men over millennia to preserve and preach a single message of salvation. In these verses we see:
Many men... (2:1, 3, 9)
Preserving... (2:5, 7)
And preaching one gospel (2:2, 5, 7)

Living By Faith: 1 Thessalonians 2:1-12

Older Christians have an obligation to disciple and encourage younger Christians in their walk with Christ. How can we do that? Paul gives a wonderful example in 1 Thessalonians. In these verses, we see how to encourage and disciple younger believers by:
Persevering despite our circumstances (2:1-2)
Speaking and ministering as to please God, not for flattery or greed or to please people (2:3-6)
Using the care and instruction of a parent (2:7, 11-12)
Sharing our life with them (2:8)

Living by Faith: Galatians 1:11-24

What makes for good preaching? How does a man become a preacher? Paul's experience illustrates some important points on the topic of preaching and the preacher. Through him, we see that preachers are:
Picked to Preach Christ for the Glory of God
Picked To Preach (1:11-16)
Christ (1:16-22)
For the Glory of God (1:23-24)

A Life Pleasing to God: 1 Thessalonians 1

How can we help those coming up behind us who are 'younger in the faith'? Paul's example with the church at Thessalonica is a beautiful example for pastors and older Christians. He shows us how to encourage and help others grow who are younger in the faith. He does so by:
Praying for them regularly (1:2-3)
Praising their diligent service for Christ (1:3)
Pointing out evidences of grace in their life (1:3-10)
